There's an interesting story on the BBC website today about how spider silk alters itself to catch water droplets, and how that technology might be used in the future to develop man-made fibers that will help water collection in dry areas by stretching out nets, or canvas, on poles and using the mesh to catch moisture from mists or breezes. The runoff would then be collected in a pipe or a trough on the ground.

There is no shortage of news stories these days on the merits of tap water and bottled water from a  variety of different perspectives. The truth is, while tap water and bottled water are regulated differently, both are generally safe, healthy choices. But only tap water delivers public health protection, fire protection, support for the economy and the overall quality of life we enjoy.

Drinking Water Treatment with Monochloramine
